What went wrong? (1d20):
  1. The AI went mad, killing or augmenting the passengers.
  2. An alien pathogen mutated the passengers. They are devolving into earlier stages along their evolutionary histories.
  3. A tear in space let loose a bunch of demonic intruders. They have left some of the passengers alive in their unspeakable torture machines.
  4. Alien experimenters attacked, hideously fusing passengers together. Most of these poor amalgams have gone completely insane.
  5. A crystalline hivemind spreads over the passengers, adding them to its collective.
  6. Plant life exploded into rapid growth all over the ship. Plant monsters hunt passengers to feed them to the enormous carnivorous plant they call Mother.
  7. Parasites grew to massive size, feeding off the radiation from the damaged engine.
  8. Mass teleportation gone wrong. The crew's near-scrambled molecules haunt the corridor's like ghosts. Their pleading touch threatens to destabilize their potential helpers' atoms.
  9. A horrible pathogen afflicted the crew. The insane, highly contagious crew attack any that enter.
  10. Cannibals attacked.
  11. Biochemical harvesters hooked up the crew to a device to harvest their neurochemicals which are valuable as an aphrodisiac. They intend to return. They have left guards and booby traps to defend their acquisition.
  12. Cute, brightly-colored carebear-Stitch hybrids have infested the ship. They appear harmless and they will be very friendly and ask anyone that comes to help fix their ship. As soon as they enter where the creatures take them, however, they will be jumped by all of the psychopathic creatures. They will lay their eggs in their victims' chests.
  13. Transhuman gamesters have set up a holographic trap, anyone that steps foot into the ship will be embroiled in their deadly game.
  14.  An alien artifact proved to be a kind of portal for eldritch entities.
  15. An alien egg hatched forth a biotechnological super murderer. 
  16. Techno Orks infest the ship. Their mawed-ship is chomped onto its hull.
  17. An alien worshipping cult has taken over the ship. They are transforming the crew into the image of their gods.
  18. Aliens that mimic people's fears and dreams have infested the ship.
  19. A highly deadly telepathic shapeshifter has killed most of the crew. It integrates memories into its being through its food and becomes more intelligent with each meal.
  20. A super being with fantastic matter recombination abilities has turned the ship into its personal playground. It must require some kind of device to supply it with the energy needed to change matter on such fantastic scales.
Other Dangers(1d6) :
  1. The ship is being sucked into the gravity well of a nearby star. 
  2. The ship is caught in the time-dilation field of a singularity. Time will pass much more quickly within.
  3. The local government has threatened to shoot this ship out of orbit if it comes any nearer an inhabited planet. 
  4. Other adventurers have boarded the ship with the intent of taking some treasure within.
  5. A cloaked ship circles the derelict, waiting for unsuspecting rescuers or salvage runners.
  6. The ship has drifted into a dense asteroid field.
