From Rogue Trader

Scenario: Sticks and Stones may Break my Bones but Lasers Blast my Skull

Ray Huxley, Male, 23, Undernet Junkie, was found with the contents of his skull scattered over his bedroom wall and the remnants of his computer.

Mary Huxley, Female, 49, Survey Filler, Ray's Mother, reported the murder of her son and the breaking into her home. She reported that she returned to her Undercity home in Subterranean Habitat 231 from a shopping trip only to discover her front door forced off its hinges with a huge dent in its center. A path of destruction led straight from her front door to her son's room. There the door was forced open in similar fashion and her son murdered. The scorch marks on the body indicate that a high-impact directed energy weapon of unknown construction to kill the poor enthusiast.

"Ooooh I always told him no good would come of that computer nonsense! Now look what's happened! If only he had watched TV and filled out surveys like me!" Mary said.

Unfortunately, Mars Force is unable to immediately follow up on this case due to lack of resources and a higher priority case involving some child murders on a playground in a nearby habitat.

Mary Huxley, unwilling to wait for Mars Force, has asked for help from your Private Detective Agency, a ragtag group of weirdos and outcasts, to solve the death of her son and bring the guilty to justice or to enact vengeance, whichever is most convenient.

  1. So much YES. I love it when people use Mothership beyond the "space horror a la Alien".

  2. These backgrounds (and this setting as a whole) are excellent. The librarian in particular, I want all of those familiars!
